HRY 698V was new to King of the Road, Worthing in January 1980. To Ron’s Coaches of Ashington in October 1991, then to Hodge’s Coaches of Sandhurst in 1992.

The seats had been refurbished by 2001 and the vehicle was repainted in November 2001. The coach was re-registered to 6691 PH on the 23rd January 2003. It was retired by Hodge’s in August 2005 and passed to LNG member Lee Simmonds of Sandhurst for preservation. It is now stored undercover in Northampton. The coach has now been reregistered back to its original registration of HRY 698V.

The coach is in relatively good shape and was well maintained by Hodge’s where it mainly worked school contracts. Hodge’s cleaning programme has also helped to preserve this coach and all its chrome and stainless trim. It is now nicknamed 'Bling of the Road '.

The Webmaster would like to thank Lee Simmonds for providing the vehicle history and photos.
